Get Ready For Longer Built Times And Higher Prices In The New Home Segment Of The Tucson Market

As projected earlier this year the homebuilders in Tucson are starting to fall behind on build times across the Tucson metro region. Homes that were being built from start to finish in January 2016 in 4-5 months are now taking 7 or more months to complete.

The main reason this is happening is due to more demand for homes then workers to build them. Homebuilding in Tucson had been in a severe slump for many years until about 2015. Between last year this time and today the demand for a brand new home has almost never been higher.

best deal I have seen a buyer get in a little while was this 2,119sf, 4 bed, 2 bath with a saltwater pool single story home that looked to be in great shape. The purchase price as $144,900 and sold for 100% of full asking price. The home was a foreclosure that was obviously priced to sell quickly as the buyers in the market only needed 4 days to have it under contract.

Rita Ranch is a popular master-planned neighborhood on the southeast side of Tucson along Houghton and Rita Rd. Homes in the neighborhood are always coming on and off the market as there is a constant demand for them. Rita Ranch is within the 85747 zip code. 85747 Homes are highly coveted due to there location close to DMAFB and access to I-10 as well as Tucson’s east side.
