oro-valley-rs.jpgWith a lot newcomers moving to the Tucson area I thought a good set of posts would be profiling the different areas of the Tucson Valley to give those new to the area or aware of other areas an insight. The first set of these posts will be about Oro Valley real estate what makes it unique, statistics about the homes, and other interesting facts about it. So first with the stats obviously if you’re new to Oro Valley Arizona (AZ) you would most likely be interested in the basic statistics so here they are.

-Incorporated in 1974

-2007 US Census Bureau estimates Oro Valley’s population at 40,195

-Oro Valley is Home to over 10 high tech firms

-Oro Valley was the fifth fastest-growing place among all cities and towns in Arizona of any size from 1990 and 2000

-According to a 2007 estimate, the median income for a household in the town was $74,015, and the median income for a family was $80,807

Set up against the western foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains (more specifically Pusch Ridge) Oro Valley offers some of the most incredible mountain views and distinctive homes in all of Arizona. Oro Valley offers some of the highest end properties and neighborhoods in the southwest United States as Oro Valley offers the views and services many high end buyers demand. Some of the extremely high end neighborhoods would be Stone Canyon, Honeybee Canyon, and La Cholla Airpark. However if you do not have a $1M+ budget Oro Valley still offers a lot for the money many neighborhoods are very well done and for the area relatively good bargains. These neighborhoods would include: Canada Hills, Rancho Vistoso, and The Villages of La Canada. house-333-rs.jpgThe most impressive feature of living in Oro Valley is the close proximity to the western side of The Santa Catalina Mountains and the views of Pusch Ridge that seem to be accessible from almost anywhere in Oro Valley. The views alone bring a tremendous amount of tourism, and winter visitors to make second home and winter home purchases in Oro Valley. (Statistics only for single family residences)
