In my opinion and many others Tucson Arizona (AZ), is a world-class city for owning a second (also called “vacation”) home. Tucson offers a world-class climate, great affordability, and a diverse number of options to its residents.

Tucson Arizona’s (AZ) location makes it very unique. The city and surrounding areas are set in a valley surrounded by several mountain ranges. This makes it perfect for picturesque views and a variety of habitats for the surrounding wildlife. The city is located about a six-hour drive from San Diego CA, and about six and a half hours from Rocky Point, Sonora (Puerto Penasco), a small relaxed beach in northern Mexico. Tucson is also about a 45-minute drive to the United States/ Mexico international border. This allows residents to take day trips to Mexico for shopping, sightseeing, and other vacation options. Tucson’s location makes it a great choice for a second home, but that is not all the area has to offer.

Tucson also offers true world-class golf. For those that play (myself included), it is hard to find a better city for the sport. The golf here is utterly incredible. Tucson has been a PGA Tour stop for over 40 years, and recently was awarded the prestigious World Match Play Championship. This is one of the most important and best tournaments on the golf schedule. The best 64 players in the world show up in February to play a match play format to decide who is the best in the world. Currently being played at The Gallery Golf Club, the tournament will be moved to a new course designed by Jack Nicklaus just minutes away from where the current course is situated. Other world-class courses that a new resident should consider playing are Ventana Canyon, Tucson National, Starr Pass, and La Paloma. What else does Tucson offer?

Tucson is also home to some of the most exclusive and renowned resorts in the world. People from across the globe request to visit Tucson and have access to these resorts. The best resorts in the area include Canyon Ranch, Ventana Caynon, Westin La Paloma, just to name a few. Residents can schedule day trips to the resorts and visit several of them a year. These resorts bring the highest class services and amenities to their clients. To those that live here, access is only minutes away. In addition, most of these resorts also have housing developments as part of the area around the resort and residents of these areas can buy memberships to the resorts and get all the amenities of the resort at any time they want. Prices range in Tucson, but for the most part, golf condos in exclusive areas start in the 150’s-190’s and full-size homes can go from the 200’s and up.
