Location, Location, Location
The old adage in real estate is that the three most important things when buying a home are: Location, Location, Location. That being said, how do you know what signifies a good location for your budget? That's the real question. Michael Oliver decided to offer a quick way to help you establish whether or not the location will work for you. |
The first 5 things to consider when deciding location are:
- Value: What price range are you targeting? Yes, the Catalina Foothills offers a lot to residents but the prices are some of the most expensive in Tucson. You have to consider which locations fit your budget and then which locations work best for you.
- Convenience: The first day in a home you've just purchased is very exciting. The second day is when the excitement wears off, and buyers start to think about how far away work, family and friends are. How close are the places you frequent the most? Are groceries a quick trip or a far out inconvenience? Can your kids walk to school? Are you close to your place of worship?
- School District: Even if you do not have a need for the local school district, prices many times have the school district priced into the home. The more desirable the school district, typically the more buyers want to buy there. Michael provides an exclusive school research tool that helps his clients and the real estate public get information on different school districts throughout Tucson Arizona (AZ) and surrounding areas. See School Reports.
- Physical Beauty: Do you like a certain area due to natural surroundings? Do you have the need to be directly on a golf course, have amazing views of the mountains, or do you prefer city views?
These are just a few questions to ask yourself when deciding on a location. Take the time to learn a little bit more about the area you are considering. Drive the route to work, drive the streets of the neighborhood at night and during the weekends. Also, go the local grocery store and make sure their selections will work for you. If needed, go to the schools and ask to speak with the principal. Ask questions. Many schools will have no problem with this. Just make sure you call and set up an appointment first.
