Meritage Homes recently moved into the Tucson, Arizona marketplace in 2005 by acquiring local home builder Monterrey Homes. Meritage Homes is a national home builder with operations primarily in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. The floor plans that Meritage currently offers have a distinct contemporary look and are at this time built in most areas of Tucson, Arizona. When compared to the average homebuilders, these homes offer contemporary color schemes and typically offer additional included options vs. other builders. Meritage Homes also builds some of the largest tract homes in the market, topping out with a floor plan that is over 4500 square feet called the Roma. Most homes that Meritage builds are priced from the high 190's to in excess of the 500's and some are priced beyond, once options and lot premiums are taken into consideration.
