Rita Ranch, located in the southeast corner of Tucson Arizona (AZ), has a great location just off of I-10 and Houghton Road. It is comprised of thousands of homes and is one of the largest home developments ever built in the Tucson real estate marketplace. Most homes have a southwestern contemporary look with neutral colors that blend the Rita Ranch community well with its desert surroundings.

The land that Rita Ranch sits upon was once owned by legendary billionaire, Howard Hughes. Hughes once was the largest single owner of Tucson real estate. During Hughes ownership, he would often refer to the land along the dirt road of Houghton as "Rita's Ranch" after Rita Hayworth, who was a popular actress at the time. The name stuck and Rita Ranch was born.

Home building within Rita Ranch in Tucson Arizona' s (AZ) southeast side began in the real estate boom of the mid 1980's. The first land was developed on the west side of Houghton Road. Now homes populate hundreds of acres along Houghton and Rita Roads.

Rita Ranch has mostly been built out over the past 20 years, and the community now features a full array of businesses and services. The community offers full service grocery stores, banks, fitness centers, gas stations, and all other necessary businesses are within a couple miles of Rita Ranch. This convenience factor spurs demand for the Rita Ranch community itself. Rita Ranch benefits from its close proximity to Davis Monathan Air Force Base (one of the largest in the United States). The service men and women constantly provide a very high number of qualified buyers as they are transferred in. Home prices for Rita Ranch are very affordable, ranging from 175,000 to 400,000.

The Rita Ranch community is home to the Purple Heart Park, which offers swimming in the summer and a skate park for skate boarders. Schools, shopping and recreation are all very convenient to Rita Ranch. Once buyers see the homes, prices, amenities, and location to some of Tucson's largest employers, it's easy to see why Rita Ranch has been such a big hit with Tucson residents over the years. As one resident puts it "I would never even think of moving out of Rita Ranch. I love it here."
